Gender-Based Harm

This category features studies, reports, and lived narratives on gender-based harm (GBH), including but not limited to domestic violence, sexual assault, femicide, hate crimes, homophobia, transphobia, and related forms of discrimination and abuse across Africa. We welcome research articles, survivor stories, prevention initiatives, and policy recommendations aimed at ending all forms of gender-based harm and supporting those affected.

In line with the mission of Human Police Policing Human (Pty) Ltd, this category is dedicated to exposing the facts, empowering accountability, and promoting justice for all. Download a template here. We encourage submissions that address:

  • Prevalence and patterns of gender-based harm in communities

  • Survivor and witness accounts

  • Community and institutional responses

  • Prevention and intervention strategies

  • Youth and GBH (including YICRP projects)

  • Legal and policy analysis

  • Experiences of LGBTQIA+ individuals and other marginalized groups

Our goal is to foster public awareness, support survivors, and drive collective action toward safer, more equitable, and inclusive societies.
